CoinScope Privacy Policy
Effective October 17, 2026. This policy describes CoinScope 0.1.0, operated by Leech Labs, including its offline collection tools and scanner. Contact us at support@leechlabs.io.
Photos, scans and your collection
You choose when to use the camera or select photos. CoinScope processes offline scan images locally and keeps private app copies of saved photos, inscriptions, scan results and collection records. Records may include your notes, albums, purchase and sale amounts, dates, quantities and wishlist. You do not need an account to use these local tools. Offline recognition does not send your photos or recognized text to Leech Labs or Google for training.
Scanner diagnostics
Google ML Kit processes images on-device, but its SDK sends technical metrics to Google: installation identifiers, device and app information, feature activity, errors, and processing performance. Google uses this information to operate, troubleshoot and improve its APIs and address abuse. This happens separately from the image and recognition result. CoinScope has no documented SDK setting that disables this reporting while preserving the current scanner.
See Google ML Kit privacy terms, its Android disclosure, iOS disclosure and Google Privacy Policy. These explain Google's handling, not a promise that Leech Labs can locate or delete Google's SDK records.
Accounts and online features
Cloud accounts, cloud backup and online image comparison are not configured in the release setup described by this policy. The app may show unavailable controls for these features; they do not transmit your collection while unavailable. The current production configuration has no Supabase or online comparison endpoint. Enabling these services in a future version requires updated disclosures before use. No Neon account service is active in this version.
Exports, sharing and external links
When you export CSV, PDF or a portable backup, or use your device's sharing menu, you choose the recipient or storage provider. Backup files can include photos and private records and are not encrypted by CoinScope. Protect exported files as you would other personal documents. Deleting an app record does not recall copies you exported or shared. Museum source links and this policy open external websites; their operators receive ordinary web-request information and apply their own policies.
Advertising, payments and app analytics
This version has no active advertising, tracking for advertising, checkout, paid subscription or separate Leech Labs analytics/crash-reporting service. The Google scanner diagnostics described above remain a separate data path. The app does not request your precise location or contacts.
Storage, retention and deletion
Your local records remain until you remove them or delete the app's data. Delete a coin to remove its record and private app photo copies. Use Profile → Delete local data for the device collection, wishlist and scans. Your original photo-library images and exported backups remain separate and must be managed in the apps where they are stored. Device migration and operating-system backup behavior also depends on the platform and your settings; Android app backup is disabled in this build.
Leech Labs does not set Google's SDK retention period or offer a verified per-user deletion mechanism for those metrics. Refer to Google's privacy information. If you contact support, we receive the information you send and use it to respond and resolve the request. We do not promise an arbitrary fixed retention period; you can contact us to request deletion of support correspondence, subject to applicable obligations.
Sharing and security
Leech Labs does not sell coin photos or collection records. Offline collection data is not sent to a Leech Labs server. SDK diagnostics go to Google as described above. Support correspondence is handled through our email service. Files you choose to share go to your selected recipients. Local data uses the application's private storage; exports may be readable by recipients. Google documents HTTPS transport for Android ML Kit metrics. No storage or transmission method is guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and contact
You can deny camera access and still maintain a manual collection, revoke permissions in device settings, avoid external links and exports, and delete local records. You can use collector tools without scanning. There is no separate scanner-telemetry opt-out in this implementation. CoinScope is a general coin-collecting utility and is not specifically directed to children. For privacy questions or requests, email support@leechlabs.io. Do not send passwords or sensitive financial records.
Policy changes
We update this page when the app's handling changes and show the effective date. Store disclosures must match the version available to users; this page does not announce store availability.
